Which feeds to pull

Regional feeds are what put Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland on the map, so keep them ticked unless you have a reason not to. A feed that stops publishing simply contributes nothing, it will not break the wall. Six to ten sources gives good coverage without the wire becoming repetitive.

World clocks

Which cities to show along the top

These run along the top right of the wall, next to the local clock. Four to seven is about right: the strip is only so wide, and beyond that they wrap onto a second line. Zulu is UTC and is marked in amber, which is worth keeping if anyone is working to a common time. A clock between 7pm and 6am its own time is dimmed, so you can see at a glance who is asleep.

How long the map stays on one location before moving on. Twenty seconds is long enough to read a headline and short enough to keep moving.

Wire slide (seconds)

How often the running order slides up.

Stories per slide

One at a time is the calmest on a large screen.

Breaking banner hold (seconds)

How long a breaking story stays red before the banner settles back.

Market refresh (minutes)

Prices are cached for a minute at the edge, so anything under two minutes will often return the same numbers.

Needed only to save for every screen. Set in wrangler.toml. Remembered in this browser once it works.

Save for every screen stores the settings on Cloudflare, so any device that opens the dashboard gets them, and screens already running pick the change up within a minute. It needs the PIN, and it needs the one time storage step in the README.

Save and open keeps the settings in this browser only. Useful for trying something without changing what everyone else sees.

Times use whatever timezone the viewing device is set to. On a UK machine in August that means BST.
